NEW BRITAIN BOARD OF DIRECTORS

New Britain Emergency Medical Services, Inc. is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting global policy, providing fiscal oversight and engaging in various development activities to assure New Britain EMS fulfills its mission of providing timely, consistent high quality pre-hospital care to the residents and visitors of the City of New Britain.

The Board achieves these objectives through quarterly meetings, the use of established sub-committees and project teams who work in a cooperative and advisory capacity with the executive leadership team of New Britain EMS.

The Board is made up of no more than15 voting members who reside or work in the greater New Britain area representing various business and cultural aspects of the community. The Board will have no more than 5 ex-officio non voting members inclusive of Chief/Executive Director and Assistant Chief/Associate Director of New Britain EMS, representation from the Common Council of the City of New Britain and others as deemed necessary.

Board members are elected to serve two [2] year terms of office with no more than half of the voting members’ terms expiring in any given year. The appointment of Directors, the election of Board Officers and the fiscal year operating budget approval occurs during the annual meeting held during the month of May.
