CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Dear Friends of New Britain EMS,

We have recently celebrated National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 15-21, 2011) and its 2011 theme by honoring the "Everyday Heroes" at New Britain EMS - the men and women who make a personal and professional sacrifice to ensure the health and safety of our community. New Britain EMS is a not-for-profit provider of 911 emergency medical services in New Britain. Annually, we respond to more than 13,000 service requests and transport more than 11,000 patients. We are active in injury and illness prevention, medical training, and disaster and emergency preparedness. New Britain EMS is proud to have led development of the State's first community-based healthcare facility disaster mutual aid plan, to have established an EMS Training Academy in New Britain, and to have obtained "HeartSAFE Community" recognition designation for New Britain. Our community outreach programs include Child Safety Seat Inspections and CPR and First Aid classes.

Through these many programs and services, our professional staff members earn the title "Everyday Heroes." It is our goal to continue our commitment to community wellness, prevention, and education. We can not do it alone and we ask for your support in our continued pursuit of excellence and community health and safety. There are several ways that you can support New Britain EMS:

  • A donation to our 2011 annual campaign: There are many opportunities for public recognition and naming rights. We would be pleased to discuss this opportunity further with you. Please feel free to contact me at (860)826-6625 or NBHeroes@gmail.com.

  • Promoting our Text-to-Donate campaign: You can encourage your co-workers, friends, and family to text NBHEROES to 20222 to donate $10.00 to New Britain EMS. A one-time donation of $10.00 will be added to your mobile phone bill or deducted from your prepaid balance. All charges are billed by and payable to your mobile service provider. Service is available on most carriers. Donations are collected for the benefit of the New Britain EMS by the Mobile Giving Foundation and subject to the terms found at www.hmgf.org/t. Messaging & Data Rates May Apply. All purchases must be authorized by the account holder. We would be pleased to discuss this opportunity further with you and to provide posters or other materials for you to distribute.

  • Schedule CPR and First Aid Classes for your company: The New Britain EMS Academy has a solution to fit your training needs. Courses in first aid, CPR, AED use, and blood borne pathogens are offered in both classroom settings and in eLearning programs. Our trainers are all experienced EMS professionals teaching the latest science from the American Heart Association. We have taught thousands of students the life-saving skills necessary to keep you, your family, and employees safe.
Thank you, in advance, for your support and involvement with New Britain EMS, your community partner! Please do not
hesitate to contact me if you have questions or wish to discuss any of the above opportunities.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Janis C. Jerman
