You seldom think about the essence of life until one day...you suddenly experience severe chest pains; your child is choking; your neighbor collapses; your co-worker is seriously injured.  When it happens, we dial 911 and hope for the miracles of television to be played out.  It is not until then that we recognize the great importance a community-based emergency medical service plays in our lives.

Since its inception in 1977, New Britain Emergency Medical Services ( EMS ) has grown to become a premier community based 911 service provider in the State of Connecticut.  New Britain EMS dedicates itself to providing timely, quality emergency medical care and transportation within the City of New Britain.  In 2007 we responded to 12,209 – 911 requests for medical assistance.  We treated over 12,000 patients who join a growing list of over 200,000 patients treated since 1977.
