NBEMS BOARD ELECTS OSHANA AND NEW BOARD MEMBERS Peter Oshana was elected Chairman of the New Britain Emergency Medical Services Board at its Annual meeting in May. Mr. Oshana has served on the board for 7 years. A longtime, active volunteer in the city, Mr. Oshana was a Deacon at First Church of Christ in New Britain, was the CT Volunteer of the Year in 2000 for the Big Brother/Big Sisters organization, and the recipient of a volunteer award from the United Way of New Britain. Bruce Baxter, Chief Executive of NBEMS, said, “We are fortunate to have someone like Peter with many years of experience in the nonprofit world take on this leadership role.” “I have a love for this city of New Britain and NBEMS is a fine organization. They save lives and promote public safety for our residents, workers, and visitors. Most people do not realize that NBEMS is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer board. I hope during my tenure as chairman to make the community aware of the quality of NBEMS service and how they help people in times of medical emergencies. I will work to get the community to give greater support to New Britain Emergency Services,” said Chairman Peter Oshana. Other newly-elected board members are: John Jedrzejczyk, recently retired Director of Finance for the City of New Britain, and newcomer, Atty.Gennaro Bizzaro of Sheehan, Rembish, LaSaracina & Bizzaro, LLC in New Britain. Chief Executive, Bruce Baxter commended Mr. Ramseur for his commitment, service, and leadership to NBEMS over the past 6 years as Chairman of the Board. New Officers are: Peter Oshana, Chairman, Atty. Harry Geragosian, Vice Chairman, John Jedrzejczyk, Treasuer, and Joan Pina, Secretary.
