New Britain Emergency Medical Services, Inc., a not- for- profit 501C3, is the lead agency responsible for the provision of 9-1-1 emergency medical services within the City of New Britain. New Britain EMS responds to over 13,000 requests for service and transports more than 11,000 patients annually.

New Britain EMS employs 70 full and part-time EMTs, and Paramedics who respond to an average of 35 9-1-1 calls per day. The men and women of New Britain EMS are highly skilled and specifically trained to provide state-of-the-art pre-hospital emergency medical care using the latest advances in pre-hospital medicine and technology.

While our primary focus is to respond to 9-1-1 calls for medical emergencies, New Britain EMS is equally active in injury and illness prevention, medical training, and medical consequence management of disaster and emergency preparedness.

Among our recent achievements include:

• Leading the development of the State’s first community based healthcare facility disaster mutual aid plan.
• The New Britain EMS Training Academy.
• Obtaining “HeartSAFE Community” recognition designation for the City of New Britain.
